ESCOM Regional Representatives

ESCOM aims to support and promote research in the cognitive sciences of music in all European regions and all major languages.

To bring music psychology to the attention of a broader audience and applications of research findings in other fields of research and practice including education, medicine, and performance.

Our regional representatives organize events to promote research and enhance communication within their respective communities.

Regional languages are useful for media publicity

Emily Clements

Emily is a Post-doctoral researcher at the University of Jyväskylä. A music therapist, her doctoral research explored coordination and social relationships in dance. Emily's current work is focused on the application of embodied cognition and motion capture to music therapy research, particularly for children with autism. Emily is also interested in developing opportunities for closer interdisciplinary collaboration between music therapy and music cognition researchers.

Charles-Etienne Benoit

Charles-Etienne Benoit's research activities focus on the study of rhythm and music on the motor and cognitive abilities of healthy and pathological individuals. Charles-Etienne Benoit is interested in motor learning, cognitive fatigue, sleep, the impact of breathing and endogenous rhythms on memory, the impact of technology on mental or physical health.

Anna Rita Addessi

Anna Rita Addessi holds a PhD in systematic musicology and gave a Post-doc thesis in music psychology. She is currently an associate professor in systematic musicology and teaches music education at the University of Bologna.

Makiko Sadakata

Makiko Sadakata is a lecturer at the musicology department of the University of Amsterdam. She is one of the core research members at Music Cognition Group (MCG) at the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation.

Blanka Bogunović

Blanka Bogunović, Ph.D. in Psychology and B.A. in Music Performance (Flute), Senior Research Associate and CTA, is affiliated as Full Professor of Psychology and Education Science at the Faculty of Music, University of Arts. She is a member of the ESCOM EC (2018-2024), ESCOM representative for Serbia (since 2018), co-founder and coordinator of the Regional Network Psychology and Music (RNPaM, 2019), and originator of the Psychology and Music ‒ Interdisciplinary Encounters Conference (PAM-IE Belgrade 2019 and PAM-IE Belgrade 2022).

Isabel Gutiérrez-Blasco
