About ICMPC

The International Conference on Music Perception and Cognition (ICMPC) is a biennial academic conference dedicated to the study of music perception and cognition. Since 1989, ICMPC has brought together leading researchers from psychology, neuroscience, musicology, education, computer science, and related disciplines to share new insights into how we experience, understand, and engage with music.

What Makes ICMPC Unique?

​​ICMPC operates as a collaborative initiative between leading societies, SMPC in North America, ESCOM in Europe and APSCOM in the Asia-Pacific.

Together, these groups support a truly global forum for interdisciplinary dialogue on topics including:

Music Education and Therapy,

Neuroscience and computational modelling.
