The Early Career Researchers' Group (ECRG) is a network for PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and other early-career scholars in music psychology and related fields.
It was created to foster collaboration, peer support, and international connections among those beginning their research careers.
Launched last academic year, the group held regular online sessions featuring presentations of doctoral research in progress and mentorship from experts in the field. Now in its second year (2026/27), the ECRG continues to grow with an active and engaged community.
The group meets online on the first Monday of every month at 18:00 CET, offering a regular space to share ongoing work, discuss methodological and career challenges, and explore opportunities for joint projects and cross-cultural collaboration.
Sessions include short research presentations by members, discussions with senior researchers, and practical workshops. The group also serves as a channel for early-career voices within ESCOM, contributing ideas and feedback to the broader association.
